Abstract EN

The research aims to study the availability of global education standards in the book of human geography for the sixth literary grade.

to achieve the goal of the research, the researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the research community included the content of the book for the academic year (2020-2021).

and after reviewing the researchers’ international frameworks and standards, and the specialized educational literature represented by the above studies and research in the field of global education.

the researcher prepared a list of international education standards that should be available in the content of the human geography book for the sixth literary grade, and they verified its validity after presenting it to a group of arbitrators of experts and specialists in the methods of teaching geography, and methods of teaching history, measurement and evaluation, which included (5) areas international, it was distributed on (16) sixteen criteria and (74) seventy-four indicators according to the research objective.

then, the researchers analyzed the content of the book, using the appropriate statistical and computational means represented by (frequencies, percentages, estimating the relative weight, and holste equation).

the research reached the most important conclusions, the most important of which is the discrepancy in the percentages achieved by the international education standards in the chapters of the book.

the international education standards were available (730 recurrences).

the results of the analysis showed that the most available criteria were: the fourth criterion (explains the natural and human characteristics of places) by (70 recurrences) and a percentage of (70.14%), and the lowest criterion was the fifteenth (explains the impact of global natural hazards on the natural environment).

by (4 repetitions) and by (6.06%).

this is evidence of the uneven distribution of standards in the textbook, as there is no unified scientific base for selecting subjects based on international education standards.

in light of this, the researchers recommended the need to take advantage of the international standards for education (NSES) from all its fields in developing the geography curriculum in order to keep pace with the curricula of global developments.

and calling on the general directorate of curricula in the Iraqi ministry of education to develop the content of the human geography book in a way that achieves the required global awareness and is linked to international education standards.
