This study aims to highlight the theoretical framework of the Blockchain technology by introducing this technology, its characteristics, and working mechanism, in addition to highlight the reality and applications of this technology in the financial and banking sector, and the most important challenges encounters.

one of the most important results of this study is that the Blockchain technology has made a radical transformation in the transactions in various economic fields, especially the financial and banking sectors.

therefore, governments and institutions must adopt this technology to benefit from its advantages, after working to understand it and identify the risks, since it’s still recent.
