The Iraqi press had a major role in talking and writing about Iraqi unity after the February 8, 1963 coup, and trying to bridge the gap between the views between the Iraqi government and the Kurds, who were demanding an administrative region within the central government.

a foreign ministry is looking to provoke the Kurdish party to keep the internal situation inside Iraq in turmoil, and to weaken the central government, which was able to change the regime of Abdul Karim Qasim.

the issue of national unity was one of the topics that preoccupied the Iraqi press, which gave a clear picture that the fighting between the sons of one people is a loss for any victorious party, and therefore demanded the Kurds to calm the situation and comply with the decisions of the central government, as well as the role of the press in finding a way out that fits with the demands of the Kurds.
