Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the level of self-regulation among university students and the statistically significant differences in the level of self-regulation among university students according to the variables (gender - grade level - specialization), and the relationship between self-regulation and academic ambition among university students.

the basic research sample includes (219) male and female students.

the ready-made scale prepared by al-Bayati (2021) was adopted to measure self-regulation and constructing the academic ambition scale.

the discriminatory power, face validity and reliability were extracted.

by using the t-test for one sample and the t-test for two independent samples, the researcher conclude the following results : - the level of self-regulation among university students is within the high level.

- there is no statistically significant difference in the level of self-regulation among university students according to the variables (gender-grade level - specialization).

- the level of academic ambition among university students is within the high level.

- there is no statistically significant difference in the level of academic ambition among university students according to the variables (gender - academic grade-specialization).

- there is a statistically significant correlation between self-regulation and academic ambition among university students.

the researcher set number of recommendations and suggestions.
