Abstract EN

The research aimed to determine the degree of availability of the values of enhancing digital security among university students in Egypt to cope with the challenges of the digital revolution ; this is done through a conceptual framework that reflects what is digital security, and highlights the most important challenges of the digital revolution and its reflects on university students.

the research used the descriptive method.

the research used the questionnaire as a data collection tool.

it included five main axes : freedom of digital opinion and expression, self-censorship, respect for digital privacy, respect for digital intellectual property rights, and protection from digital risks and threats ; the questionnaire was applied to a sample of (1036) male and female students in Egyptian general universities to determine their degree of the values of enhancing digital security.

the research indicated that the values of enhancing digital security among university students are available with a medium degree, as the response rate to the questionnaire as a whole is (63.49%) ; the results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the sample responses according to the gender variable (males-females), in favor of females, according to the variable of the university (al-Azhar-general) in favor of al-Azhar, according to the variable of specialization (theoretical-practical) in favor of the practical, and according to the variable of residence (rural-urban) in favor of the urban.

the research recommended the necessity of developing the values of enhancing digital security among university students to cope with the challenges of the digital revolution through some of the proposed procedural mechanisms.
