The study aimed to identify the strategic direction of the Ministry of Education in Gaza towards e-learning.

As the initial information was obtained through a direct interview with the Ministry of Higher Education, as it is the responsible authority and officer for the higher education process and some directors of education in the region and some academics, and the researchers adopted the descriptive and analytical approach through which the study objectives can be achieved.

Among the most important findings of the study: The ministry has set emergency plans to confront the pandemic, and there has been no strategic direction towards e-learning.

Despite the pandemic and its impact on the whole world in all its sectors, the Ministry did not adopt the e-learning system as an educational system as an alternative to face education, even for the higher scientific stages! The Gaza Strip lacks an adequate technological infrastructure to qualify for e-learning.

There is a variation in the ability of some educational institutions to transform e-learning as a support system.

The study concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which are: Benefiting from global experiences in e-learning.

To start relying on the e-learning process in addition to face-to-face education.

Developing specialized quality systems to manage and control the e- learning process.

The need to create a training curriculum to train students, teaching and administrative staff, on the e-learning process through the electronic portal.

Keep up with the latest developments in the field of e-learning.

Moving towards preparing a roadmap for adopting e-learning as a supportive education system for face education.
