Abstract EN

This research aims at highlighting the role played by universities to enhance knowledge economy indicators through clarifying the relationship between knowledge economy and university education.

Focusing on assessing the role of public universities in enhancing the indicators of knowledge economy and preparing the community to access it through supplying community with the required human efficiencies.

The research uses the inductive and deductive research method.

Quantitative analysis using statistical tools is used to analyze data.

The researcher depended on the records of the selected universities to obtain data.

Add to that, a questionnaire was designed as a tool to collect data about faculty members' views in relation to the role of universities towards knowledge economy.In the light of the results obtained, a number of recommendations and suggestions are put forward: The highest indicator recorded by the university within the indicators of research and innovation is that the research carried out at the university keeps pace with progress and addresses contemporary problems of the requirements of the knowledge economy.

The best education and training indicator recorded by the university is the university’s contribution to finding educational outputs that cover the needs of the labor market.
