Abstract EN

The Iraqi people have been subjected to war related trauma and military conflicts for more than three decades.

The prevalence of PTSD among the Iraqi population has been proved by many previous studies.

As a result there are enormous impacts on the lives of people and young people in particular.

One of probable consequences of PTSD is aggressive behavior that can interact with the reactions of those suffering from this disorder.

The personality traits play a vital role in both the development of PTSD for the subjected people as well as reactions to traumatic events.

In this study, an attempt was made to identify the existence of PTSD and both the aggressive behavior and the health related personality traits and the correlation among them.

Sample of 195 students (65 (33.3%) mals and 130 (66.7%) female) age ranged from 18 to 36years M= 21.55 and SD = 2.15 was recurred.

Three scales used to achieve study objectives; 1- the PCL-5 for Weathers, 2013, which is structured according to DSM-5 criteria to screen PTSD, consisted of 20 items.

2- The hP5i (health related personality inventory) for Gustavsson et al., 2003, consisted of 20 items to screen personality traits related to Big Five traits.

3-The Buss and Perry 1992for aggressive scale to measure aggression which is consisted of 29 items.

The study found that sample has PTSD, aggression and health related personality traits with significant t-test (one sample).

Moreover, there is significant correlation between PTSD and aggressive and between PTSD and some health related personality traits.

The study recommends paying attention for treatment PTSD and its consequences
