Abstract EN

This study examines the traditional relationship between war rhetoric and disease rhetoric in the public sphere.

It discusses the problem of the extensive use of war metaphors in media discourses pertaining to the coronavirus pandemic and the possible effects of these metaphors at the levels of discourse and social practice.

Through the methodology of Critical Metaphor Analysis (CMA), the study explores the conceptual frameworks of war metaphors in media discourse and discusses the possibility of accessing alternative metaphors for disease discourses.
