English Abstract
This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the degree of availability of standards for institutional excellence and the level of job performance of general directorates of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, from the viewpoint of their employees.
The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the study sample consisted of (234) employees, who represented (85.09%) of the total size of the study population numbering (275) employees.
The researcher used two questionnaires, the first of which sought to measure the degree of availability of standards for institutional excellence in general directorates of the Ministry, and the second aimed to measure the level of job performance of directorates' employees.
Among the findings of the study are the following : 1.
The degree of availability of standards for institutional excellence in the general directorates of the Ministry was moderate, with a relative weight (65.58%).
2.
There were no statistically significant differences to the degree of availability of the standards for institutional excellence in the general directorates of the Ministry due to the variables of (gender, years of service, and educational qualification), while there were differences attributed to the variable of job title, in favour of general director, division director, and department head.
3.
The level of job performance of employees of the general directorates of the Ministry was significant, and had a relative weigh (79.58%).
4.
There were no statistically significant of the level of job performance of employees of the general directorates of the Ministry due to the gender variable, while there are differences due to the job title variable, in favour of (general director, division director, and department head).
There are also differences due to the variable of years of service in favour of (10) years or more, and due to the variable of qualification in favour of graduate studies.
5.
There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the degree of availability of standards for institutional excellence in its fields in the general directorates of the Ministry, and the averages of their estimates of the level of their job performance.
In light of the results, the researcher recommended the following : 1.
The importance of activating a unit for quality and managing institutional excellence, in the Ministry of education and higher education.
2.
Activating the incentive system, and increasing employees participation in setting plans, and decision-making processes.
3.
Setting reference standards for good performance indicators, to compare the level of excellence.
