This article highlights the dual effects of focused media coverage of terrorism issues.

On the one hand, the media can be used as a supportive of legitimate authority to eliminate extremist groups and undermine their destructive ideology.

On the other hand, the media can allow these groups to spread terrorist thoughts, improve its image, and stir up emotions in support of it, which could incite public opinion against the existing regime.
