English Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between the emotional sensitivity and quality of life for a sample of retirees in the Gaza strip, as well as.

The study also aimed at identifying the level the level of emotional sensitivity and the level of quality of life for retirees considering the following variables: gender, age, education, type of work (civil or military), the rate/percentage of salary after retirement, and the study followed analytical method and considered a sample of (348) retired of both sexes.

Age of sampling ranged between (35-70) years.

In order to collect required data, the study used a set of tools such as: emotional sensitivity scale (prepared by the researcher), and quality of life scale (prepared by the researcher).

These tools were applied on a random intentional manner, the researcher carried out the tests of validity and reliability of the collected data using the methods of internal consistency, Cronbach-alpha test, and split-half test.

The study reached a set of results.

Most notably, the study concluded the following: The study sample scored an emotional sensitivity average value of (2.88) with a standard deviation value of (0.478) and a relative weight value of (72%).

This indicates that the level of emotional sensitivity was statistically significant among retirees in the Gaza.

The study sample scored an emotional sensitivity average value of (2.56) with a standard deviation value of (0.719) and a relative weight value of (64%).

This indicates that the level of quality of life was statistically significant among retirees in the Gaza.

- A statistically significant relationship between emotional sensitivity and the quality of life among retirees in the Gaza Strip.
