Arabic Abstract

تأتي مشكلة هذه الدراسة كإستجابة للفجوة بين ما يتم تدريسه في برامج الترجمة في الجامعة الإسلامية وما هو مطلوب حقا في سوق العمل من مهارات و كفايات، فهدفت الدراسة إلى تحديد معايير ماجستير الترجمة الأوروبية EMT ليتم تضمينها في برنامج الترجمة في الجامعة الإسلامية، كما هدفت إلى تقييم مساقات برنامج الترجمة في الجامعة الإسلامية في ضوء هذه المعايير، كذلك هدفت الدراسة إلى تصميم مساق متخصص في الترجمة في ضوء هذه المعايير، كما تم قياس تأثير تدريس المساق الذي تم تصميمه على رفع كفاية الترجمة لدى طالبات الماجستير في الجامعة، و لجمع البيانات اللازمة لهذه الدراسة، استخدام الباحث أربع أدوات و هي (قائمة الفحص و اختبارين لكفاية الترجمة و استبانة للتأمل الذاتي، حيث وظفت هذه الدراسة التصميم شبه التجريبي لمجموعة واحدة.

و قد أظهرت النتائج أن نسبة توافر معايير الترجمة الأوروبية في برنامج ماجستير الترجمة بالجامعة الإسلامية تحتاج للزيادة حيث أنها بلغت (41.17%) كتقييم عام للبرنامج، كما و أثبتت النتائج فاعلية تدريس المساق المطور في رفع كفاية الترجمة بحجم أثر عال وصل إلى (879).

و من أبرز توصيات هذه الدراسة العمل على إثراء المناهج التي تدرس في برنامج ماجستير الترجمة بالجامعة الإسلامية لتتضمن معايير ماجستير الترجمة الأوروبي من خلال العمل على تعزيز نقاط القوة و إعادة النظر في مواطن الضعف.

English Abstract

The problem of this study is a response to a perceived gap between what is taught in the programmes of translation at IUG and what is needed in the translation job market.

The study aimed at determining the EMT standards to be embedded in the MA Translation programmes, then evaluating the courses taught as a part of the MA translation programme at IUG in light of the EMT translation standards.

Additionally, it aimed at designing a specialized course of translation in light of the EMT translation standards, then measuring the impact of this intervention on upgrading the translation competence among the MA translation students at IUG.

For data collection, four tools were used in the different stages of the current investigation.

The researcher used a content analysis checklist to evaluate the MA translation programme in light of the EMT translation standards, while a translation competence tool that are pre-post tests and a questionnaire were used to measure the progress of the translation competence among the MA students.

The results of the study revealed an inadequate level of the availability of the EMT translation standards in the MA translation programme at IUG, as it does not exceed (41.17%) as a general evaluation of the entire programme.

For the empirical stage, the study followed the one-group pre-post-application quasiexperimental design.

Based on the analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data, the results showed that the translation competence of the MA students at IUG is unsatisfactory.

However, the results of the study prove the positive impact of the designed course in enhancing the translation competence of the MA students with a size effect of (87%).

Therefore, the researcher holds that the MA translation students at IUG are not completely ready to compete in the job market.

Accordingly, there are certain modifications to be implemented in the MA translation programme by redesigning and enriching the translation curriculum in light of the EMT standards.
