English Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the principals of lower basic schools in the governorates of Gaza in providing the requirements of realistic evaluation and ways to develop it, and to achieve the goal of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, which depends on studying the phenomenon as it is in reality as an accurate description and express it qualitatively and quantitatively.

The study population consisted of all teachers of the lower basic stage in the West Gaza educational district, which numbered (2280) male and female teachers, and a random sample was approved, whereby a sample of 10% of the study population was selected, amounting to (200) male and female teachers.

The study reached several results, the most important of which are: 1.

The field of material requirements got a relative weight of 68.37%, the field of moral requirements got a relative weight of 75.75%, and the field of social requirements got a relative weight of 79.31%, and the results of the study showed that the requirements of realistic evaluation got a relative weight of 74.48%.

There are significant differences between the averages of the sample individuals ’estimates of the role of school principals in managing the realistic evaluation due to the variable of years of service in favor of the years of service (less than 5 years).

There are also significant differences due to the gender variable in favor of females, and there are also significant differences due to the variable of age for Age group (less than 35 years).

There were no significant differences between the averages of the sample individuals ’estimates of the role of school principals in managing the realistic evaluation due to the variable of the educational qualification.

The study recommended several recommendations, most notably : 1.

The necessity of providing spaces commensurate with the application of the realistic evaluation system.

2.

The Ministry allocates an adequate budget for schools to implement the realistic evaluation in the school.

3.

The necessity of providing a guideline for applying the realistic evaluation.
