Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify degree of applying respondents working in agricultural extension work for the studied information and communication technology in the agricultural extension work, to determine the relationship between the degree of such application and some studied independent variables, to recognize the obstacles applying such technology and their solving suggestions of the obstacles.

the research was carried out in south Sinai governorate.

a simple randomized sample of (108) respondents was selected, representing 72% of the total (150) in the research area.

field data were collected via personal interview using a questionnaire form during march and April 2022, and several statistical methods were used in analyzing the data i.e.

the replicates, the percentages,, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, the average degree, the simple correlation coefficient, and spearman's correlation coefficient.

the most important results were as follows: 1-45.6% of the total respondents involved in agricultural extension work fell into the high level category of using the computer in extension work in the research area.

2-27.8% of the total respondents engaged in agricultural extension work fell into the high level category of using the international information network, the internet in extension work in the research area.

3-17.6% of the total respondents engaged in agricultural extension work fell into the high level category of applying the agricultural research and extension communication network (Vercon) in the research area.

4-37.1% of the total respondents fell into the moderate level category of the degrees that express the respondents involved in agricultural extension work for applying of the studied information and communication technology in agricultural extension work, while the low category represented about 33.3%, and the high category represented around 29.6% of the total research sample.

5-there was a significant relationship at the 0.01 level between: seniority of graduation, duration of working in agricultural work, period of service in extension work, agricultural training, training in the field of agricultural extension, computer training, and possession of a computer and the degree of respondents involved in agricultural extension work application for applying the information and communication technology in agricultural extension work, at a level of 0.05 for the age, and internet service subscription.

6-the most crucial obstacles for respondents’ applying of the information and communication technology in agricultural extension work were: lack of computers and internet service at the workplaces of extension workers, and the absence of specialized training programs on the use of information and communication technology applications in the extension work with percentage of 90.7%, and 85.2%, respectively.
