This study aims to highlight the role of the United States of America in maintaining the independence of Liberia, as the only country that has not been colonized on the African continent, and since its founding, the colonial powers, led by France, regarded its presence as an obstacle to its colonial expansion in West Africa, and considered its presence a blatant challenge to European control over African territory.

Despite the foreign policy of the United States of America towards Liberia, foreign threats were the greatest threat to the security and independence of the Republic of Liberia, which suffered from internal conflicts.

The United States of America was quick to provide assistance and strengthen its political relations with the Republic of Liberia.
