Abstract EN

The language in the expressive function which is also called the emotional function refers to the sender's position on the various issues he talks about, and focuses on the sender to express his position and feelings, therefore, it is directed at the first person forms.

in this study, we try to treat the poems of the Syrian poet “Sanieh Saleh” (1935) and the Iranian poet “Tahera Sfarzadeh” (1315).

in our study, we are based on the American school of comparative literature, relying on the descriptive-analytical method.

it has become clear to us that the expressive function was manifested in the poems of Suniya Saleh and Saffarzadeh by expressing their biography and their psychological states of wonder, hope, despair, loneliness, regret, nostalgia, captivity, freedom and fear.

the two poets expressed all these cases with methods and expressions denoting them according to their linguistic dictionaries.

they also used the forms of exclamation and regret, especially the first-person forms, to express this linguistic function.
