The study aims to shed light on the democratic transition by tracing the literature on democratic transition, and how political theorizing dealt with it, in addition to examining and analysing the phenomenon of democratic transition and trying to explain the theoretical frameworks that dealt with the democratic transition, and the study used the entrance Historical, descriptive and analytical method.

The results of the study showed that the democratic transition needs fertile soil, embodied in the creation of a culture of democracy and a constitutional document that respects human rights and the rule of law and that the process of democratic transformation is a gradual process, not a sudden boom.

The study recommended, despite the difficulty, to drop the experience of democratic transition for all countries, as each country has specificity in terms of accessing the stage of democratic transition.

Emphasis on the values of good governance is represented in civic spirit, political permissiveness, political affiliation, citizenship, and the speedy completion of building and institutionalizing state institutions.
