Abstract EN

This study aims to know the impact of the commercial policies applied by Algeria in the field of foreign trade, as it is one of the most important sectors in the Algerian economy, on the balance of payments, as it is the mirror reflecting the state of the Algerian economy during the period 1990-2020.

We have tried to address the general concepts about foreign trade policies and the balance of payments, presenting and analyzing some statistics related to the trade balance and the balance of payments, and presenting the most important measures and procedures applied by Algeria in order to regulate the field of foreign trade.

In the end, we came to the necessity of attaching these measures and measures taken with others aimed at ridding the national economy of dependence on the hydrocarbon sector and supporting national production and national institutions as a mechanism to raise the volume of exports outside of hydrocarbons.
