Abstract EN

The study aimed to shed light on the medical tourism in Libya, in particular the city of Misurata, as a case study.

The study explored development of the health sector in the light of the demand for this service.

A survey questionnaire has been constructed and distributed along in different medical specialists in the city for fifty respondents including public and private medical providers.

Results of this study indicated that this sector has contributed in the enhancement of the health sector and support the economic development in the city of Misurata.

The findings also indicate some obstacles that may hinder the development this industry, such as logistic services and political instability which pose a challenge to the government and local institutions to overcome.
