Abstract EN

This study sought to identify the degree of understanding the students of the college of science at king Saud university the history and philosophy of science in the light of some variables.

the sample consisted of (233) students, and to collect data, the test of understanding the history and philosophy of science was applied, which consisted of (36) items from the type of multiple choice after validity and reliability were verified.

the results of the study indicated that the students’ understanding of the history and philosophy of science was weak, with an average of (14.49) degrees and a percentage of (40.20%).

likewise the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (0.05) attributed to the level variable and in favor of higher academic levels.

the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the academic specialization variable.

finally, the research presented several recommendations and suggestions based on its findings.
