Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the effect of spiritual intelligence on organizational commitment among employees of the public and private sectors in the sultanate of Oman: the moderating role of gender.

the researcher used the descriptive quantitative approach by applying a scale consisting of two variables: spiritual intelligence as an independent variable and it consists of five dimensions: (critical existential thinking, production of personal meaning, transcendental awareness, expanding the state of feeling, and the ability to use spiritual sources in facing daily problems ), and organizational commitment as a dependent variable and it consists of three dimensions (normative commitment, emotional commitment, and continuity commitment).

the scale was applied to 650 male and female employees in the public and private sector in the sultanate of Oman.

the results indicated: the level of spiritual intelligence among employees in public and private sector in the sultanate of Oman came high, and the highest value came in (the ability to use spiritual resources in the face of daily problems) and the lowest value came in (expanding the state of feeling).

the level of organizational commitment among public and private sector employees in the sultanate of Oman came high, and the highest value came in (emotional commitment), and the lowest value came in (continuity commitment).

the results revealed that the (producing personal meaning) has the most influence on organizational commitment.

the results also showed that the moderating variable (gender) has a weak statistically significant impact on the relationship between spiritual intelligence and organizational commitment among public and private sector employees in the sultanate of oman, the effect was higher for males compared to females.
