and extravagance in eating and drinking if it results in abandoning what is desirable, then it is disliked, and if that goes beyond the duties, then it becomes forbidden.

extravagance in dress is to wear what is permitted by the law, and that it is intended to show the grace of god, and that it is not of the high or the low.

it is a middle ground between excess and negligence.
