Abstract EN

The Algerian-Ottoman state was established for three centuries and passed through several systems of government during which many rulers succeeded in its rule.

Most of their fate was murder at the hands of the army, which had power and influence.

The last of these rulers was Dey Hussein Pasha (1818-1830 AD), who was not spared from internal troubles, foreign campaigns and even conspiracies; an era that ended by the French occupation of Algeria in June 1830 AD.

Algeria, eventually, turned officially into a French colony following the Dey: 'the ruler of Algeria', signature of the surrender treaty on July 5, 1830 AD who left it as if he had never ruled it.
