Abstract EN

The missions of the customs are generally fixed in the customs law and specified by article 3 of the Algerian customs code.

other texts of a legislative or regulatory nature charge the customs administration with the application of provisions relating to the control borders, in particular those governing the sectors of trade, finance, national defence, agriculture, industry, health, transport, tourism, information and culture.

traditionally responsible for the collection of customs duties and taxes, the recovery of fiscal and parafiscal charges, the fight against illicit trafficking and the control of goods and people at the borders, customs has been entrusted with new missions with high stakes economic and environmental.

as part of the protection mission assigned to it, customs contributes to the preservation of the environment.
