Language plays an important role in human life, as it is the main means of acquaintance and interaction between human beings.

because man is a social being, he cannot live in isolation from his peers ; as he must communicate with others in order to satisfy his needs and meet the requirements of his life, the position of language in this natural process comes in the first place ; to facilitate mutual communication between individuals and achieve their desired goals.

there is no doubt that the Arabic language has a cultural and intellectual heritage, which makes it develop the mental and personal traits of the individual.

the Arabic language has been able to change and develop the culture of human societies in general and Arabic in particular, as the Arab person was able to develop his mental and emotional traits through his mastery of the Arabic language.

the Arabs were distinguished in the past by rhetoric, good use of words and genius in poetry.

the distinguishing features of the Arab man at that time were eloquence in speech, description of nature and analysis of events.

this research paper aims to reveal the impact of the Arabic language on the rooting of the Arab identity in light of modern changes by answering the following questions : what is the concept of the linguistic feature and its relationship to identity ? what are the special features of the Arabic language ? what are the contemporary challenges facing the Arabic language ?
