Abstract EN

The research presented the sources of citing the poetry of the Companions, Hassan bin Thabit, and Labid bin Rabi`ah in the book Tafsir Gharib Al-Muwatta by Abdul Malik bin Habib Al-Andalusi (238 AH), and these evidences were chosen by the author; To perform a semantic function, which is to prove the meaning of an expression, or to state its ruling, or as an argument for its use in the Arabic language.

The research was able to limit the sources of citing the poetry of the Companions: Hassan bin Thabit and Labid bin Rabiah in seven places on the interpretation of words, and in one place on the preservation of pre-Islamic poetry on the number of widows before Islam.

Among the results of this research is the interest of the commentator in the hadith of Al-Muwatta, and the spiritual status of the two companions, Hassan bin Thabit, and Labid bin Rabi’ah, who are two poets whose poetry fell during the time of martyrdom, and they met the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.

And that the places of reference to the poetry of the Companions: Hassan bin Thabit, and Labid bin Rabi’ah came in the explanation of some of the words of the hadith of Al-Muwatta, as they came in the explanation of some of the words that were mentioned in the evidence of the interpreter Abdul Malik bin Habib, hadith, or poetic, and prose from the words of the Arabs.
