The research aims to shed light on governance in Islamic banks, by defining the conceptual framework for Islamic banks, and the various basic concepts of banking governance, then exploring the concept of governance, its advantages, foundations, and its importance for Islamic banks.

The research concluded the necessity of activating the various governance mechanisms in Islamic banks by creating a central Sharia supervisory body that works to ensure that the operations of Islamic banks conform to the principles of Islamic law, in addition to Sharia auditors and Sharia judicial authorities, because governance in Islamic banks is governed by adherence to the principles of Islamic Sharia.
