Abstract EN

The study aims to examine the mechanism of the work of sharia control in the Libyan Islamic bank in terms of (components, number of members, specialities, tasks), to reveal the role of sharia control and its contribution to the development of the bank, and to identify the obstacles and difficulties facing the bank and legitimate control in the development process.

to achieve this aim, a case study and qualitative interviews are employed.

as such, interview data are seen as particularly useful for the purpose of a case study, through direct interviews with the study sample, which includes members of the sharia supervision in the bank.

the results indicate that the Libyan Islamic bank has a great impact on society in economic and social terms, and the sharia control has an important and effective role in the bank.

they also indicate that there are some problems and obstacles facing the bank, such as political and economic conditions, lack of qualified staff in Islamic banking that affects the development process.

the study recommends that the Libyan Islamic bank should pay attention to the department of development and sharia research, and should train bank’s staff on Islamic banking practices and techniques.
