Abstract EN

The main objective of this article is to highlight the main challenges that students face during the learning of the geography modules as a fundamental degree at the Moroccan university.

it also aims to present future prospects for the teaching of geography.

in this regard, we have adopted a methodology based on a questionnaire, and series of interviews with students and teachers.

the main results of this article are as follows : firstly, the acquisition of knowledge and methodological tools by students is related to the nature of the geography modules and also to the academic environment; secondly, the perspectives on improving geography, as a science that combines both theory and practice, depend on the integration of practical work into all modules.

finally, the competition of the geography from other fields concerned with the same issue, and analyzing area studies influences the identity and future of this science.
