Abstract EN

This article aims to tackle Imam Shawkani’s approach to jurisprudence rules.

The importance of the study derives from the importance of the personality of Imam Shawkani، who is one of the mujtahid scholars of the nation.

The study employs the descriptive inductive approach.

It is divided into an introduction، two sections and a conclusion.

The first section deals with Imam Shawkani’s approach to the jurisprudence rules by identifying the characteristics of his jurisprudence، and inferring them، and how to form the jurisprudence rule.

The second section tackles the applications of his five major rules.

The study concludes with a number of findings، the most important of which are: Imam Shawkani depends in his views on strong rules and fixed principles.

The sub-rules were brought out on the total rules linking between the sub-rule and its origin.

He also depends on the evidence to derive the rule in question، or building a base without adherence to the doctrine.

Therefore، his jurisprudence rules are not doctrinal، but rather independent expressing his thought and opinion.

The study recommends caring for Shawkani’s books، in investigation and printing، and teaching as well.
