Abstract EN

This research aims to expose and explain the different sectors of the Royal City and its environs within the larger landscape of the heartland of Meroe extending from Al-Mahmia in the North and Al-Hassa in the South, including the mountainous Plaetu between Al-Mahmia and Jebel Um Ali which closes to the Nile fertile lands and then branches off towards the east and then leans toward the south to descend toward the Nile again at Deam Al grai- Al- Hassa.

The paper shed light on the connections and interrelationships of the deferent Sectors of the Royal City, their layout, and functions in order to outline a workable Model of the Royal City and its Environs, for a better presentation of a more existing scene and better chances for new research.

The research also discusses the future plans of site’s restoration, preservation and tourism.
