The study aimed to follow up the stages that the studies went through to try to read the Meroitic language.

The importance of this study was the presence of serious attempts by researchers to decipher the talismans of this language.

The study also followed the historical analytical descriptive method in order to reach the results.

The most important findings of the study are that the Meroitic language is the first written local language spoken by the ancient Sudanese in the Meroe region.

The oldest written tablet in Meroitic dates back to the third century BC when the influence of the Egyptian hieroglyphs began to diminish and disappear.

The Meroitic language is characterized by the use of comma marks between each word and the other.
