Ahmed Mohamed Ali El Hakem and published in 1975 ADAB, the journal of the faculty of Arts- Khartoum university with the title “The city of Meroe and the myth of Napata” The main theme of the topic is that Meroe was the Admini&rative capital of the Kushite Kingdom all through the hi&ory of the kingdom (750B.C- 350A.D) and that Napata has never been the capital but was the religious center of the kingdom where the kings of Meroe werecoronated and blessed by Amum of Napata who was believed to abide in the Barkal holly mountain.
