Abstract EN

This research aimed to study social anxiety of male and female students in secondary school in khartoum locality.

to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used the descriptive analytical way to analyze the data and deliberately choose stratified random sample of (240) students of them (120) students (males) (120) students (females) students of secondary school in khark toum locality.

the researcher also used social anxiety test which the researcher made it familiarized with the sudanese environment.

after the test had been applied, the researcher analyzed the data statistically using arithmetic averages, standard deviations, t-test, correlation coefficient and analysis of variance.

the most significant results of the test are as follows; the students (males and females) in secondary school in khartoum locality, characterized by high-grade level on a scale of social anxiety.

there is no difference in the average of the students’ performance on a scale of social anxiety according to sex (male, female).the study recommended that psychologists should make psychological and educational programmes for the educational institutions and activate the social activities outside classrooms, concentrate and encourage group work to find out the sociological and psychological problems of the students so as to lessen the effect of social anxiety and solve them as well.
