Abstract EN

This study aimed to find out the extent to which the Arabic language textbook for the eighth grade in Jordan includes emotional intelligence skills.

the study sample consisted of the Arabic language book for the eighth grade.

the researcher used the content analysis method to reveal the emotional intelligence skills included in it according to their frequency and percentages.

the study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: that the most common components of emotional intelligence in the paragraphs of the Arabic language book for the eighth grade is social awareness, in addition to that all emotional intelligence skills were mentioned in the Arabic language book with acceptable repetitions, except for the skill “the ability to control a bad mood.” and troubled emotions” as they were never mentioned in the book, while the listening skill came with the highest frequency (103) and a rate of (26.27%).

the researcher recommended that the authors of the Arabic language book for the eighth grade in Jordan should focus on emotional intelligence skills, especially empathy skills and social skills, because of their importance at this age.
