Abstract EN

Traffic accidents are one of the main causes of death, as they claim many lives and leave many psychological and social effects on the victims.

Many factors are involved in the cause of these accidents, which are related to roads, vehicles and motorists.

The researcher conducted this study to find out the reality of traffic accidents in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,where the researcher chose the sample in a random way and it amounted to (208) and it consisted of (159) drivers and (49) female drivers.

For drivers, I registered for the paragraph “I do not exceed in prohibited areas” and it was (16.83%), The highest percentage of the causes of traffic accidents related to the roads was recorded for the paragraph “the nature of the roads in terms of turns and slopes in them” and was (29.81%), and the highest percentage of compliance with safety conditions was recorded for the paragraph “I know that tires have an expiration date and that they have a distance to travel.” And it was (000%), and the highest percentage of accidents according to the seasons from the drivers’ point of view was recorded for the winter season and it was (43.75%).

And that the drivers’ reaction according to the weather conditions recorded for the paragraph “If the street is wet, I reduce my speed” got the highest percentage (31.73%), the highest percentage of accidents according to the days of the week from the drivers’ point of view recorded on Thursday and it was (42.31%), and the highest percentage of accidents Traffic according to the driver’s gender and marital status recorded for males at a rate of (70.8%), and the researcher recommends the need to maintain the infrastructure, use paint in the work of lanes, expand the sloping and curved streets, and establish emergency parking queues.
