Abstract EN

The current study aimed to uncover the effect of the Self-Inquiry Strategy (KWL) on acquiring scientific concepts and motivation towards learning the science subject for the seventh grade students in the science subject of the seventh basic grade in the Directorate of Education in the Amman, and to achieve the aim of the study, the quasi-experimental approach has been used.

The sample of the study consisted of (81) male and female students who were intentionally selected from the seventh grade students.

Building the educational material according to the self-inquiry strategy, and a test for acquiring concepts and a measure of motivation towards learning science has been used, and their psychometric properties have been verified.

The study found statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a<0.05) between the mean scores of the members of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on the concept acquisition test and the measure of motivation towards learning science, where the value of (t) calculated = (- 5.738), which It indicates that there is an effect of the Self-Inquiry Strategy (KWL) in acquiring scientific concepts in the science subject of the seventh grade students and developing their motivation towards learning science.
