Narayan uses magical realism as a technique in writing.

Examples of this technique can be found in his novel The English Teacher which shows the writer's ability to deal with hybridity, autobiography, and colonization as important elements related to magical realism in literature.

This paper researches into the definition of magical realism and how it can be applied to the Indo-English literature, with a special reference to Narayan's aforementioned novel
