Al al-Bayt University is the first university in the contemporary history of Iraq, which has witnessed a great development in the field of education since the establishment of the national government in 1921 for the purpose of advancing the country at that time.

One of the Iraqi intellectuals who learned outside Iraq.

The study aimed to identify the reasons and justifications that called for the establishment of the university since the beginning of the establishment of the national government in Iraq, and to identify the efforts that were made to make this scientific edifice a success because of its importance in building the country's institutions.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the historical descriptive method was used.

The study was able to reach a set of results, the most prominent of which is that King Faisal I realized the importance of education as an essential axis for creating an educated generation capable of managing and advancing his country's institutions in the present and the future.

The study recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to draw lessons from the experiences of Iraqi and Arab history, in order to bring about a higher level of advancement of the educational process in Iraq.
