Abstract EN

This research presents an overview of the dominant linguistic pattern in modern and contemporary critical discourse, where critical practice that is based on scientific study of language, is generally considered a revolutionary and genuine contribution in the twentieth century, which is indeed the age of Linguistic criticism, so we studied the latter by researching its beginnings, its methodological frameworks and general trends.

The aim is to better fathom the essence of critical linguistics and its macro tenets which bring together its theoretical diversity and multilayered themes.

Hence, the significance of this research lies in the fact thatits studies closely and adequately the frame and methodology of this field.

It is also worthy to note here that there is scant studiesin Arabic that explicitly targets the notion of discourse analysis in spite of the numerous publications that tackle its subjects and metamorphosis.
