The rapid, modern, technological developments and the intense competition to achieve quality and flexibility in education and to provide distinguished services require universities, in general, and private ones, in particular, to make proper changes in their administrative leadership methodologies, and therefore, to keep pace with these developments and to make a difference through the administrative empowerment.
thus, this study aims to measure the impact of transformational leadership on administrative empowerment among employees in Jordanian private universities.
the analytical descriptive approach was used as it is suitable to conduct this study, and the study sample consisted of the teaching staff members working in Jordanian private universities.
(346) questionnaires were distributed to the study sample in order to collect the necessary data for the current study, of which (303) valid questionnaires were retrieved to be statistically analyzed.
additionally, descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing were performed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS v.21).
the study reached many results, mainly, there is a statistically significant impact on the transformational leadership dimensions (inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individual considerations) in the administrative empowerment, and that there is no statistically significant impact on the ideal effect (charisma) on administrative empowerment at the Jordanian private universities.
in the light of the findings, the study considers a number of recommendations, the most important of which is to continue applying transformational leadership.
the study also recommends Jordanian private universities to necessarily activate the ideal influence dimension (charisma), in terms of having the teaching staff participating in setting goals for it, paying attention to the ethical considerations of the profession when tasks are completed, and attaching importance to character strengths and professional courtesy in administrative leadership.
