Abstract EN

A comparison between two analytical methods to measure sulfur dioxide has been studied, the distillation method (optimized monier-williams) and spectrophotometric method ( Pararosaniline-formaldhyde).

the two studied methods validations were evaluated for linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection and limit of quantitation.

spectrophotometric method was found to be better than distillation method, due to its high sensitivity (LOD = 0.046 ppm, LOQ = 0.14 ppm), Simplicity and time saving.

Khamar-Alddin samples were analyzed using spectrophotometric method.

all the analyzed samples presented Sulfur dioxide levels within the maximum levels established by Syrian standard specification (Khamar-Alddin, 77: 2013) 2000 mg/ kg.
