Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) converts angiotensin I into angiotensin II.

The later causes vasoconstriction and increases blood pressure.

ACE inhibitors (ACEIs) are classified as antihypertensive drugs.

Lisinopril is one of the drugs involved in this class of drugs.

Series of lisinopril analogues has been designed, and docked using molecular modeling and virtual screening programs, as well as, their binding energies with the target enzyme have been calculated.

This study reveals variety of lisinopril analogues with greater binding affinity in comparison with lisinoprilas reference drug.

This study suggests the synthesis of these analogues and testing their biological activity in vitro and in vivo in order to obtain novel antihypertensive agents with greater activity and less side effects.
