Abstract EN

In the present study, five derivatives of 3-acetylcoumarin were synthesized and these compounds are: Semicarbazone-2-methyl -3-coumarenyl ketone, 2-[1-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl) ethylidene] hydrazinecarbothioamide, [1.

(2-oxo-coumarin-3yl) ethylidene] urea, methyl (coumarin-3-yl ketone) hydrazine, 6.methyl-1-(coumaren-3-ylethylidene) amino-2-thiooxopyrimidin-4-one.

The prepared compounds were characterized by IR, LC-MS spectra.

All compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against gram positive Staphylococcus Aureus and gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli at different concentrations (500, 250 ppm).

These compounds .showed good activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria
