Abstract EN

The solubility diagrams of Ketoprofen from its inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrin, -cyclodextrin , and hydroxypropyl β-cyclodextrin were studied in order to improve solubility of Ketoprofen and develop a new oral liquid dosage form with enhanced bioavailability and without irritating action on stomach.

The best solubility of Ketoprofen was obtained in the presence of hydroxypropyl β-cyclodextrin, due to the formation of an inclusion complex (Ketoprofen: HP-β-CD), which permit to prepare an oral solution of Ketoprofen contains 10 mg/ ml.

Drug-hydroxy propyl beta cyclodextrin solid systems were prepared by co-precipitation and grinding of physical mixture methods.

The formation of inclusion complexes were confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and comparative studies on the in- vitro dissolution of Ketoprofen were carried out.

The dissolution rate of Ketoprofen was increased 6 folds from its inclusion complex prepared by grinding of physical mixture, and 3 folds from its inclusion complex prepared by co- precipitation method.
