Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to determine the necessary religious concepts for learners of Arabic as a second language and to find out their proficiency in them.

The researcher has used the descriptive analytical method as it is suitable to achieve the objectives of this study.

In this vein, the researcher has prepared a questionnaire to determine the necessary religious concepts for learners of Arabic as a second language, and based on the outcome of this questionnaire, a test was constructed to measure the proficiency of students in them.

The sample of the study is 100 students from the Institute of Teaching Arabic for non-Arabic speakers at the Islamic University of Medinah.

The result of the study shows that there are four major religious concepts with 82 branches under them.

Also, the result shows that the proficiency of the sample of the study in these concepts is high.

Accordingly, the several recommendations and suggestions have been proposed.
