Abstract EN

The study aims to reveal the extent of marital compatibility and its relationship to the quality of family life for secondary school teachers in the cities of Bethlehem and Taybeh.

Furthermore, the study aims to expose the source of the differences of marital compatibility and the quality of the family life of secondary school teachers )gender, age, place of work, education and finally the family monthly income).

The study sample included (95) participants, secondary school teachers from the cities of Bethlehem and Taybeh (Almothelath), who were randomly chosen.

The researchers used the descriptive research method, and the two measures of marital compatibility and quality of family life.

The results of the study concluded that the level of marital compatibility among secondary school teachers came to a large degree, The fields are listed in order “intellectual and emotional compatibility”, “emotional compatibility and the practice of love”, “economic compatibility.” The study also concludes that the level of family quality of life for secondary school teachers came to a large degree, and the fields are listed in order “the family aspect”, "The economic aspect”.

The study also concludes that there is a positive correlation between marital compatibility and the quality of family life.

The study resolves that there are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05).

In the level of marital compatability and the level of quality of family life for secondary school teachers due to the gender, age, workplace, educational level, monthly income of the family.

The study recommends that counseling courses be provided for people about to get married and newlyweds, that enable them to build a well-founded marital life where the other’s needs are taken into consideration and provide psychological support for a harmonious and communicative marital life.
