Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate nostalgia prevalence among students of both An-Najah and Hebron universities, and to explore the differences in nostalgia according to gender, university, and place of residence, and the researchers used the descriptive method to achieve the objectives of the study.

a stratified random sample of (385) student was chosen, both male and female students from both universities participated in the study.

The researchers used Hebron University’s nostalgia scale (Jondi, El-Nasr, in press), both validity and reliability of the scale were guaranteed in the Palestinian environment.

the findings showed a presence of a large degree of nostalgia among university students, differences in nostalgia levels on two dimensions of nostalgia scale (nostalgia to things and nostalgia to people), differences in nostalgia levels in favor of Hebron University students, and no differences in nostalgia levels according to gender or place of residence.

the study came out with some of recommendations, such as spreading awareness about the remarkable social traditions in the palestinian society, as this has a positive impact on showing the good aspects of nostalgia.
