This research seeks to study the letters of the Tunisian writer Abū al Qāsim al-Shābbī to his friend Muhammad al-Heliwi, which gained a cultural and social importance in terms of knowing the visions and perceptions surrounding that time, especially in Tunisian society.

these fraternal letters are linked by friendship ties, and differentiate between familiarity at times and admonition at other times.

this research, entitled (the Letters of Abū al-Qāsim al-Shābbī-a thematic study) aims to demonstrate to study these letters in terms of their themes and content premises.

this study attempts to reveal the impact of the type of letters in particular on the map of modern Arabic literature in the twentieth century.

the research focused on three procedures: the subject, the effect, and the response.

this study resulted in a statement of the sincere relationship with al-Heliwi and the absent idealism of Tunisian literature, and an explanation of the cases of pain and misery experienced by al-Shābbī, which constituted important elements in the composition of the themes of his letters.
